Mani Monday #1: fall inspired ombre nails

hey everyone!

today we're starting a new series calles „mani monday“ - hope you enjoy! :)

our fall inspired ombre nails
our fall inspired ombre nails

today i’m doing fall inspired ombre nails. the colours i’m using are
“ballet slippers“ from essie (basecoat), „chocolate cakes“ from essie (bottom),

maybelline „forever strong“ no.80 (middle),"big apple red" by o.p.i. (top) and the sponge im using is from the drugstore.

this is my first time trying to do ombre nails! i’m very excited and i hope they will turn out just great. so lets get started!

  1. i’m applying a basecoat from essie called „nourish me“ on to my nails to keep them healthy.
  2. then i’m appling two layers of the white nailpolish on all of my nails. this helps the colours to pop even brighter, once we've put them on.
  3. with a pair of sicssors i’m cutting the sponge into the right size, so it won't apply to much nailplish on my fingers.
  4. it's going to get messy and i’ll have to clean up my nails afterwards :( but here’s a trick to protecting the skin around the nail: put some duct tape on the skin around the nails so the nailpolish sticks to it and not the skin.
  5. now i’m putting my fall inspired nailpolishes on the sponge, in the pattern i want to have it. i’m using a brown, a dark red and a light red.
  6. let the fun begin! i’m pressing the sponge on to the nail and keep patting it on till the wonderful ombre pattern is perfect.
  7. step 5 and 6 have to be repeated on every single nail. this takes a while but it’s totally worth it!
  8. time to let the colours dry.
  9. to finish off the fall inspired ombre nails i’m using atop coat by essie called „good to go“ (favourite top coat ever!)
  10. my ombre nails are finished :)
I hope you found this helpul and inspring :) now its your turn, try some ombre nails of your own! If you do, please be sure to send us some pictures on twitter or tell us about your tips and tricks in the comments! so excited to see what you guys come up with!

my all-time favourite hair product!

hey everyone,
today i thought i'd share my favourite hair products with you:

kiehl's olive fruit oil nourishing series

My thoughts on the "kiehl's olive fruit oil nourishing"-series

i have been using these products for about 3 months now and i can really feel a difference. before using the kiehl’s olive fruit oil series i mainly used kerastase and others product lines such as herbal essences. don't get me wrong, i still like those other products but these products from kiehl’s are really working for my hair. even though it’s pricy i just love it! It leaves my hair soft, nourished, healthy looking and strong – exactly what i need. I have longer, thick and wavy hair – nourishment and softness is what i expect and need from my hair products. the kiehl’s olive fruit oil series has completely satisfied my needs! here's some detailed information about each product and some pro's and con's.

kiehl's olive fruit oil nourishing shampoo

product description: this shampoo is blended with avocado oil, lemon extract and olive fruit oil. it’s formulated especially for dehydrated, under-nourished, and damaged hair.
pro's: cleanses, nourishes the hair and makes it soft, shiny and healthy looking. you don’t need alot of product, even for long hair. i just love how it smells and how foamy it gets.
con's: pricy

kiehl's olive fruit oil nourishing conditioner

product description: just like the shampoo, the conditioner is blended with avocado oil, lemon extract and olive fruit oil. the formula contains molecules which mimic natural oils that make the hair soft and healthy.
pro’s: makes hair soft and detangles it. it’s great for dry ends but doesn’t make your scalp oily at all. It’s light weight and smells amazing.
con’s: i need a lot of product for my hair. that could be because i have long hair or because i want every strand of hair on my head to be fully covered with conditioner. although i love how my hair immediately feels super soft, i use up alot of this pricy product each time i wash my hair.

this is what my hair looks like after washing it with kiehl’s olive fruit oil nourishing shampoo and conditioner:
